Why the COA Is Your Most Important Purchase Tool
In an unregulated botanical marketplace, a published 7-OH lab test COA (Certificate of Analysis) is your only objective verification that what is printed on the front of the box matches what is inside the tablet. Sadly, unscrupulous vendors frequently post outdated, illegible, or forged test sheets.
Here is our chemist-approved guide on how to evaluate a 7-OH lab report like an industry professional.
1. Check the Accreditation of the Testing Laboratory
Legitimate testing cannot be performed in-house. Look for an accredited third-party analytical lab holding an active ISO/IEC 17025 certification (such as Cora Science, S&N Labs, or Murray Brown Laboratories). The laboratory’s phone number, physical address, and lead chemist signature must be clearly visible.
2. Match the Batch Lot Number
Every genuine ZOHM product displays an embossed batch number on the carton (e.g., ZH-TD22-104). The lot number printed on your physical packaging must match the lot identifier on the analytical certificate exactly. You can verify all active production lots on our Lab Tests Page.
3. Review the Chromatographic Potency Section
Look for the High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) cannabinoid/alkaloid quantitation panel. It will state:
- Target Analyte: 7-Hydroxymitragynine (mg/g or mg/tablet).
- Limit of Quantitation (LOQ): The lowest concentration the machine can reliably measure.
- Reported Value: Should match or slightly exceed the advertised milligram dose (e.g., 22.4mg on a 22mg label).
4. Verify the Safety Panels: Heavy Metals & Microbials
Potency is only half the battle. A truly premium product must confirm “PASS” or “ND” (Non-Detect) across all four toxic heavy metals (Lead, Arsenic, Cadmium, Mercury) and certify zero presence of Salmonella, E. coli, and fungal mycotoxins. Read our full safety guarantees on our Health Disclaimer.
